Hi, I'm Lauren Howell, and I have been making art my whole life, and jewelry for almost ten years. I live in Colorado Springs, CO with my amazing family!
Throughout my career as a User Experience Designer for websites, apps, software, and games, I have been drawn to what I can create off the screen with my hands and my imagination. Jewelry is a tangible, versatile, and surprising medium full of challenges and triumphs, and I have only scratched the surface of what's possible in this space!
My Approach
My artwork is free-spirited and ever-evolving, born of the natural world but unafraid to break the rules. Each piece is an exploration of boundaries: between chaos and intention, softness and edge, tradition and rebellion.
I draw inspiration from organic textures, raw emotion, and the wildness of nature, allowing instinct to guide my hand as much as technique.
Expressive and bold, my work refuses to be boxed in, celebrating imperfection, movement, and the beauty of becoming. It's art with a pulse—alive, shifting, and defiantly its own, empowering the wearer as a talisman to their most unique personal qualities.
My Process
I start by planning the piece, looking at all the options I have (shape, color, glitter, inclusions, charms, wire, etc...)
Then, I create the resin elements with high quality jewelry or UV resin.
Finally, I add features and effects, such as multiple tiers or charm adornments for added interest.
I've created special methods of curing resin and of setting the piece in jewelry wire over the years I've spent developing my art.
I ensure that my pieces are sturdy and not prone to breakage by sealing and reinforcing with resin as a cold join method.
